Health Science 2
Healthcare Science prepares students to provide healthcare services for the community. The courses provide a solid foundation for a further education in a wide range of medical and health related careers, including:
- Doctor
- Nurse
- EMT
- Nursing Assistant
- Physical Therapist
- Physician Assistance
- Veterinarian
- X-ray Technician
Program Goals
The purpose of this program is to provide high school students with:
- Introduction into the healthcare system
- Assistance in making career decisions
- Entry-level employment in a healthcare job
- Acceptance in a post-secondary healthcare program
- Develop students' leadership skills
Courses Offered:
Healthcare Science II:
- Students learn basic nursing skills (vital signs, bed making, and personal hygiene)
- Students become certified in Infant/Child CPR/1st Aid through American Red Cross
- Students will participate in a clinical setting at a healthcare facility for 4-6 weeks

The mission of HOSA is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience.
Purpose
The purpose of the HOSA organization is to develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program.
